  • I hate our bed. . . We got it CHEAP when we got married and has moved all over the place with us.  Lately the box spring has become increasingly louder.  So loud that every time one of us moves even the slightest bit it wakes the other one up.  So you can imagine how little sleep we get since we are both restless sleepers.  We live in a duplex and I'm sure the neighbor had to be kept awake by our tossings and turnings.  2 nights ago was the last straw for me.  Tommy was disturbed by nightmares and tossed and turned the entire night.  I yelled at him to lay still and it didn't do any good.  I totally understood why old people got separate beds.  Yesterday I told him we're throwing away the box spring.  So now we're laying on a mattress that sits on the bed frame so we don't completely feel like we're sleeping on the floor.   It sucks. . . It curves in kinda like a U shape.  But I haven't slept that good in months, so it's worth it.

A couple of months ago we went and looked at beds, unfortunately the one we want is over $2,000.  I refuse to settle for less, and get a bed we don't really want, so we will sleep the way we are until we have the money saved.

    Until next time. . .

  • TEST

I took a test here to see about my personality: http://psychcentral.com/personality-patterns/

    I think I'm kinda boring. . .

    Cooperative

You enjoy teamwork, play well with others, and prefer getting along to winning.

You're not compelled to win every contest nor to be right all the time.

    Scrupulous

You are an honest, fair person. You don't lie or cheat to get ahead. You treat others with respect and hope for the same in return.

You do not feel that you are above the rules that everyone else follows; you are definitely not willing to do whatever it takes to get ahead.

    Self-Contained

You like to stick to your own business and leave the power struggles to others; you know who you are and what you believe in, but you don't see any reason to impose your values on everyone else.

You generally don't get involved in organizing or motivating people, and you don't feel the need to always be seen as a big public decision-maker.

    Utilitarian

You put your energy into finding out what works and sticking with it rather than looking for new ideas that might, or might not, change the world.

You don't feel the need to constantly be coming up with new ideas or solving problems with novel solutions.

    Down-to-Earth

You think that many of those who claim to love art are just being pretentious. As long as something does the job, whether it be a couch, a coat, or a kitchen cabinet, it's "beautiful" as far as you're concerned. Those who have a high score on the "down-to-earth" trait often hold positions in which they have the opportunity to exercise their organizational expertise.

You do not think that having "good taste" is such a big deal, or even that there is such a thing as good taste; nor do you claim that you "can't live without" art, beauty, or good design.

    Buttoned-Down

You like to know that everything is in its place; it's somehow empowering to know that the world around you is neat and organized. For you, schedules and timelines are great ways to stay on track, and mowing down the items on your "to do" list is a source of happiness.

You do not believe that a clean, orderly desk is the sign of a person who doesn't have enough to do; you don't thrive on a sense of personal anarchy.

    Acquiescent

You are comfortable in your own skin and don't need to throw your weight around. You'll often choose to be the one who is told what to do rather than the one who's doing the telling, and you sometimes avoid confrontations even if it means that you won't get your way.

You aren't interested in making others bend to your will or in always dishing out criticism. You're not a pushy person, and you like it that way.

    Understanding

You are willing to take the time to find out what's going on with other people, especially if they're in distress. You're a good listener, you don't criticize, and you offer unbiased, respectful, honest advice when it's requested. With a high score on the "understanding" trait, it is likely that you are enthusiastic about charitable work, helping others, and making the world a better place.

You don't feel the need to impose your standards on others or say things that, even though true, cause pain.

    Responsible

You fulfill your obligations and responsibilities, are true to your word, and generally obey the rules. While the majority of those who have a high score on the "responsible" trait enjoy traveling, they are usually very happy to return home — and don’t mind staying put for a while.

You're opposed to making hasty decisions, you don't insist that you're above the rules, nor do you feel compelled to color outside the lines.

    Organized

You like to think a task through before you embark on it. If it's the slightest bit complicated, you make a list (even if it's only in your mind) and methodically work your way through it. When you have a goal in mind, you're not satisfied until you reach it.

You are not one of those people who ignore the details, and you don't understand how anyone can get anything accomplished without thoughtful planning ahead of time.

    Busy Times

Made it home from MS late last night.  It was a really great trip.  The class itself was a lot easier than I thought it would be, praise God!  It went from 6:30 am to about 3 pm every day.  Not too bad.  I made a friend while I was there, she was also in my class.  I'm sure our classmates thought we were crazy because we laughed from day one over the most stupid things.  But we also had some great talks, especially about the Lord.  I'm really glad God put me there when He did.  We went to the beach one night, another night we got our nails done, got some dinner and then the mall.

The class ended Thursday morning which left me nothing but time because my flight wasn't until Friday at 5 pm.  So after class I wandered about 10 miles over to Gulfport to the Christian Bookstore.  I found a cute pink Bible that is small enough to fit in my purse.  I also got the new Newsboys CD.  Then I came back to my room and took a 2 hour nap.  Then I called my friend so we could spend our last evening together having dinner and relaxing.  We went to one of the Casinos and made 20 dollars be our gambling limit.  We played the slots and I won $10!  So then we ate at the buffet there and said our good byes.

Yesterday I had a leisurely time waking up and packing since checkout wasn't until 11:00.  After I checked out I headed toward the airport and found a Sonic so I could have a Cherry Limeade.  I'm totally addicted to to those things.  There was a Wal-Mart nearby and I needed a couple of things so I stopped by there.  After that I went to the airport and turned in my rental car and had some Arby's.  I saw one of my classmates, said "hi" to him and he looked at me with the oddest look.  I said, "I'm from class"  He said, "Oh!  You look so different in normal clothes!"  He was used to seeing me in my uniform so it threw him off I guess, LOL.

So now I'm home and things are going back to normal.  I washed some clothes, straightened the house, went to the library and did some grocery shopping.  Then I packed for the trip to Vegas.  We're leaving first thing Monday morning.  Will be so fun!  The conference itself will be LONG but hey it's a free trip to Vegas and there will still be time to see and do plenty.

    Until next time. . .

  • Happy Saturday!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend thus far.  Yesterday was fun, we had some errands to run and while we were out we had lunch.  Managed to get home before the major rains started.  After we got home I took a nice long nap, the weather was perfect for it!  Then when I got up Tommy vacuumed while I cleaned the rest of the house.  We knocked it out very quickly.  We had such a wonderful week together, I'm so glad I took the time off.  I will go back to work refreshed and ready for the summer when it gets insane with the manning in our shop going down from 6 to 3.  Not looking forward to that!

Today will be fun, going to hang out with my friend Laurie and go to lunch and a movie.  (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past)  Can't wait!

    Until next time. . .

My vacation is winding down, slowly but surely.  I have thoroughly enjoyed it!  It's been nice to just be me and Tommy doing whatever we please and not having any obligations.

Yesterday we went golfing.  I usually only go about once a year.  I enjoy it but never really think to go more often.  I'm not sure what happened, but yesterday I played like I play all the time.  I hit lots of great shots way up in the air and even made a par!  My putting really improved as well.  It actually makes me want to play more.  Poor Tommy pulled a muscle in his back when he did a swing.  He's not out of bed yet, so I'm not sure how he's feeling today.  Hopefully he's fine!

Looks like it's going to downpour today, we need the rain so bad.  I have a few things I'd like to get done, like groceries and clean house.  I had a to do list for my vacation and it's almost complete so I'm thrilled about it.  Most of my to do list was fun stuff, not all work for this kid!

    Until next time. . .
