    Blessings. . .

I tell ya. . . the past week has been HARD.  But through it all I can look back and see how God was there and blessed me along the way.  He always put people right there with me and we got through  the tough week together.  He kept me healthy when I lost sleep and He kept me safe.

He's given me unbelievable friends and family who faithfully pray for me and offer me encouragement right on time.  He's given me co-workers that have taken me as their own and look out for me.

When I go back to my regular life I pray that I'm a better, more faith filled person that has a different perspective on everything.  That I put importance on what really matters and let the rest go.  That I hug my friends and family a little tighter and never take anything or anyone for granted.  Because life is SHORT and we never know what tomorrow holds.  I'm proud of the calling God has put on my life but it's bittersweet because with it comes a whole lot of things that are tough to take in.  But God always equips the called and is always right on time with what we need.

    Until next time. . .

    Moving Day!

Today I moved from my room into a tent.  I chos
e to do it!   I'm not crazy. . . but the group I live with doesn't have room for their guys coming in and since I'm the "comm girl" it made sense that I'm the one to move out.  Plus it kinda sucked having your room literally right where you work.  They were getting to the point they were knocking on my door early mornings and late nights.  So at least this way I can not be bothered on my off time, I can hopefully make friends and everything is much more convenient where the tent is.

The tent itself holds 6 females and it's split up with rooms.  So when you walk in there's wooden boards on each side that act as walls, then wooden doors.  Makes 6 rooms.  Each living area is small but I have a bed, a locker, a nightstand and some shelves.  I'm pretty adaptable so I will be fine.  This is what deployed life is all about!  I will post pictures of it soon!

Moving was pretty simple, we have a Polaris so I threw in my bags and drove off.

I will start staying there tomorrow night.

    Until next time. . .

    Books, Books, and More Books!!!

I'm a book collector. . . wherever I go, if there's a box of books that are free to a good home I will stop what I'm doing to collect.  I even take that habit to my iPad. . . I receive daily emails from Kindle with free books and I can't even tell you how many free books I've downloaded. . . and I can't stop!  On this deployment I've picked up so many books from various boxes throughout the base there's no way I will read them all, so chances are I will pay to ship them home. . . I went to the post office today and they had a whole wall of free books and I managed to resist, but it eats at me.  I know they are there and what if there are amazing reads I am missing out on??????  So I can guarantee within a few days I will be back down there sorting through the books to find some to bring back to my room.

This really started in my childhood. . . My mom would read to me every night and it got to where I would memorize the book and read it back to her at 3 years old.  I didn't know how to read, I just enjoyed it so much I remembered what I heard.

I remember from first grade on when we'd order as a class from whatever book thing there was, and I LOVED taking the catalog home and spending hours picking 2 or 3 books and then the anticipation of waiting for them to come in. I'd read those books over and over until there was hardly anything left to them.

As an adult I'd go to the library and check out 10-15 books at a time!  So I guess books are "My Thing"

I could totally spend an entire day at Starbucks cuddled up on a sofa or comfy chair drinking frapps and reading books all day.  Until next time. . .

    Update on Ginger

I mentioned yesterday that Ginger wasn't feeling well.  So I suggested to Tommy to give her some of her arthritis medicine and he said she was zipping all over the house!  So I'm praying the fix was just that simple. . . I feel bad that we had stopped giving it to her but she always seemed fine.  I don't believe in meds just because it's there.

Today there is a drizzling rain.  It's getting soooooooooooooo much cooler!  I've got Tommy shipping my cold weather gear ASAP!  I heard we get lots of snow!  Ugh. . .

    Until next time. . .

    WHEW!!!

I tell ya, the last few days have been a whirlwind. . . I won't bore you with details but suffice it to say that it's been busy mixed in with stressful mixed in with awesomeness all rolled into a package.

My little Ginger hasn't been feeling too well.  She's our oldest dachsie. . . almost 13 years old.  Tommy did say she seemed to be doing better, so I'm praying it was just a day where she was just really tired or something.  I mean, at some point we gotta face that she's OLD and will eventually leave us but even with that in your head, are you EVER really prepared for it?  I'm not!  So she better be 100% real soon so that we don't have to think about it again for awhile!

My sis and her husband are going to see my parents for a week.  She's been married 5 years and they've never met their son-in-law!!!!  So that's exciting to finally be happening for them.  Hopefully she can fix their Skype so I can chat with them all while they are all together.

    Until next time. . .
